The Apple Vision Pro now features a native and “reimagined” TikTok app, the firm revealed Thursday. Since February 2, Vision Pro has had over 1,000 applications built for it, including one of the most prominent social media networks. The Vision Pro can play TikTok videos on your browser, but the native app is more immersive.
To watch videos in full, the TikTok Vision Pro software hides the navigation bar and like button and displays the comment area and creator biographies as side extensions.
On the mobile app, comments show on top of the video, and clicking on someone’s profile opens a complete page. Vision Pro lets you see everything at once. The Vision Pro eliminates screen size and spatial limitations, making content more immersive, according to TikTok. Unlike the mobile app, you can watch a video while browsing through comments without having your view cut off.
Yosemite and the Moon are among the immersive settings where you can view TikTok films. It also works with Shared Space, so you can view TikTok videos while using other applications.
The Vision Pro app features a left-hand navigation bar, unlike the smartphone version. TikTok claims it changed to follow Apple Vision Pro design guidelines. Right-hand icons include profile, share, like, comments, and sound.
After a TikTok product leader confirmed development, the app launched a few weeks later.
Slack, Zoom, Microsoft 365, and Disney+ were among the 600+ Apple Vision Pro applications at launch. Apple senior vice president of global marketing Greg Joswiak said this week that the Vision Pro has over 1,000 dedicated applications. The Vision Pro can run over 1.5 million iOS and iPad applications, but spatial apps for the headset make use of its features.
TikTok should provide a spatial app for the headset because Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video do. YouTube, one of TikTok’s largest rivals, says a Vision Pro app is “on the roadmap” but hasn’t specified a date. TikTok has an edge over YouTube by introducing its app first.
