ArborXR gets $12 million to improve its platform for managing AR and VR devices.

ArborXR, a startup specializing in remote management of AR and VR devices, had a strong conviction that enterprise customers would be the main focus for these cutting-edge technologies. Now, that investment is yielding results. Earlier this week, the company made an exciting announcement about securing a significant amount of funding. This Series A funding will play a crucial role in the development and expansion of its platform.

Mercury Fund and Cortado Ventures led the new round, with Impact Venture Capital and Lewis & Clark Ventures participating. ArborXR has successfully raised more than $25 million so far.

Although consumers may not fully embrace the hype surrounding XR (extended reality), including AR and VR, it is gaining significant traction in the corporate realm. Major corporations like Adidas, Bank of America, Coca-Cola, Dell, Pfizer, Nike, and Walmart have embraced VR training programs to effectively educate their employees in hybrid and remote office environments.

Managing the numerous VR devices used by employees can pose a challenge for businesses. This is where companies such as ArborXR come into play.

ArborXR impact in VR devices

ArborXR offers a comprehensive platform that enables companies to effortlessly oversee and manage AR and VR devices. With our platform, you can easily install apps and content, as well as have full control over user access within the headset. As a user, I understand the importance of managers being able to easily set up devices using ArborXR’s web app. This app is conveniently available on both Windows and Mac devices, allowing for seamless integration.

Once set up, managers can then monitor training progress in real-time, providing valuable insights and guidance to employees as they navigate virtual experiences. Additionally, managers have the ability to control user settings, limit access, trigger updates, and keep track of device health, including battery life and storage capacity. ArborXR’s web app truly empowers managers to efficiently manage and optimize their training programs.

Additionally, you can explore a comprehensive directory of more than 600 app developers and access specialized enterprise apps.

More than 420 educational institutions use the company’s education offerings in addition to its enterprise-focused products. Users have the ability to manage an unlimited number of devices for both offerings.

According to Brad Scoggin, the CEO and co-founder of ArborXR, it is crucial for people to be aware of the current widespread use of XR in industries such as enterprise, healthcare, and education. Forget about Meta, Apple, Qualcomm, or Google… We should not overlook their remarkable dedication to XR. This represents a significant transformation in the way individuals acquire knowledge, with virtual reality serving as a catalyst for this revolution.

The company has been confident that VR will find its biggest audience among enterprise customers since the introduction of ArborXR in 2020. It’s no surprise that more than 3,000 major companies have chosen to utilize its device management services. Some notable names include Bank of America, Delta, Pfizer, Qualcomm, UPS, and Walmart. ArborXR’s customer base has increased threefold in the past year, according to the company. The company is optimistic that the additional funding will enable it to effectively address the increasing market needs.

The three co-founders—SScoggin, Will Stackable (CMO), and Jordan Williams (CRO)—began their first entrepreneurial venture in 2017 with UpwardVR, a VR arcade company. In 2021, Vertigo Games acquired SpringboardVR, a software platform they introduced to streamline VR device management. Scoggin, Stackable, and Williams used their expertise and achievements from SpringboardVR to introduce ArborXR.

What is our long-term vision? “XR revolutionizes learning and work,” Stackable exclaimed. Imagine the incredible possibilities of pilots honing their skills through flight simulations in the comfort of their own homes, surgeons gaining invaluable practice in complex procedures without any risk, and students having access to top-notch education no matter where they are. Imagine a young child from a remote rural area exploring the Louvre through a virtual tour, or a medical student honing their skills by practicing complex surgery. In the end, we firmly believe that XR, when used effectively, can be a valuable tool for reclaiming people’s time. To become more efficient and effective, take a break from technology and savor the joys of the offline world. That is the vision we are striving for: XR as a valuable tool rather than a means of digital escapism.
