On Tuesday, Reddit launched five new tools for Ask Me Anything, a Q&A feature where celebrities, public personalities, organisations, and Redditors interact with community members and provide answers on a given subject. Among the new features are notification, scheduling, and the option to invite guest collaborators.
As part of the upgrade, Reddit included a special Ask Me Anything tab within the online post composer. The same way they would a standard post, users may create an AMA session using this tab. Though it will soon be accessible on the mobile app, the tab has already trickled out to PC users.
The helpful tool for presenters who get a lot of questions from followers and need extra assistance is the ability to have up to five visitors help answer queries. This is the first AMA where a host (or original poster) may invite guest collaborators.
Another useful new feature is the ability to plan a post up to 21 days in advance to promote the Ask Me Anything. As a result, hosts will have extra time to build excitement around the live Q&A session.
Hosts may now write a message to answer any last questions or provide useful links to close an Ask Me Anything.
Reddit has also added tools to improve participants’ AMA experiences. One of the new buttons, “Remind Me,” will alert users 24 hours a day, as well as immediately before an AMA goes live.
New filters also enable users to concentrate on the most relevant material by allowing them to switch between queries with and without replies.
On its first earnings call as a public company, Reddit announced that it had generated $243 million in revenue in Q1, up 48% from the same time last year. This new AMA experience follows that announcement.
