Indeed introduces an innovative work experience writer and adds support for multiple resumes

Indeed has recently revamped its profile page, offering users a more streamlined experience. One notable addition is the integration of an AI-powered writer, which assists individuals in completing their work experience section. Additionally, Indeed now supports the use of multiple resumes, providing users with greater flexibility. The company has recently introduced a range of smart sourcing suites for recruiters, which include advanced features such as AI-powered candidate summaries and personalized messages.

Owned by Recruit Holdings Indeed is transforming its profile page and incorporating advanced AI features to enhance its competitive edge against platforms such as LinkedIn, Talent.com, and ZipRecruiter. The new AI-powered work experience writer assists individuals in crafting more effective descriptions for a variety of projects.

In addition, the company is implementing a feature that allows users to save up to five resumes. This will enable individuals to conveniently select the most appropriate version when applying for various types of positions. According to Indeed, both features will be rolled out soon.

The job-seeking portal already had a feature that allowed users to control the visibility of their profiles to recruiters. However, the company decided to enable it by default and has made it conveniently accessible on the settings page.

Additionally, the company is launching a smart sourcing suite for recruiters to minimize what they refer to as “irrelevant outreach,” when employers contact candidates who do not align with the job requirements. In addition to advanced search filters, companies can also utilize AI-powered candidate summaries.

Additionally, Indeed is incorporating AI-powered smart messaging and automated interview scheduling into their platform. This AI-powered messaging tool empowers hiring managers to effortlessly create or modify their communication with job seekers. Throughout the testing phase, the company noticed a significant time-saving benefit for recruiters who utilized the smart sourcing feature for hiring. They were able to save up to six hours per week.

The company explained that it has a responsible AI team in place to prevent biases and ensure that AI-powered summaries capture all important details.

LinkedIn, a competitor of Indeed, has integrated AI into various areas, including learning, recruitment, marketing, sales, messaging, and profile enhancement.

During a call with Eltrys, Deepti Patibandla, senior director of product at Indeed, emphasized the company’s ongoing commitment to helping people find employment.

While LinkedIn primarily concentrates on professional networking, Indeed’s primary objective is to assist individuals in securing employment. We have a solid foundation for our business. She emphasized the importance of simplifying the hiring process as a way to stand out from the competition.

We aim to match individuals with suitable employment opportunities instead of overwhelming them with irrelevant job listings. These two are our primary areas of focus at the moment. In the long run, we envision users coming to Indeed to establish their career path.

In the previous year, Indeed made the difficult decision to reduce its workforce by laying off 2,200 employees, which accounted for 15% of its staff. During that time, CEO Chris Hyams expressed that the organization was “simply too big for what lies ahead.”
