ByteDance’s video editing app CapCut will no longer offer free cloud storage for hosting creative assets as of August 5.
Recently, users have been receiving notifications regarding changes to the terms for the free tier. Previously, the company provided 1 GB of complimentary cloud storage, but this service will no longer be available. Starting now, there will be a charge for cloud storage on CapCut.
CapCut provides two subscription options for storage: a $2.49 per month plan with 100GB storage and a $7.49 per month plan with 1000GB storage. Creators may consider purchasing additional storage or utilizing a different cloud service provider to share their files.
The app previously allowed up to five collaborators on one account with the free tier, but it will now be limiting that number to two individuals.
Starting August 5th, users will have the opportunity to add a collaborator to their account without any additional charges. CapCut offers the Team Tier package for users who want to expand their collaboration capabilities. With this package, users can easily collaborate with multiple user accounts and share the same cloud space. A company spokesperson shared this information with Eltrys.
In a recent expansion, YouTube has made its rival Create app accessible in 13 additional markets, such as Brazil, Spain, Canada, Australia, and Hong Kong.
