The Tesla factory in Berlin, Germany, is facing a shutdown for several days and a financial loss exceeding $100 million due to a suspected arson attack on the local power grid.
The fire did not extend to Tesla’s factory, and fortunately, no one was injured. However, employees had to be evacuated. Thousands of locals experienced a temporary power outage as a result.
An activist organization known as the “Volcano Group” claimed responsibility for the fire in a letter published online on Tuesday. Reuters reports that authorities have not yet confirmed their involvement. This group claimed responsibility for a fire near the location in 2021.
