In some areas, TikTok is launching its Instagram rival, TikTok Notes. In Canada and Australia, the software is accessible on Google Play and the Apple Software Store, according to the business.
The business said on X that it is in the “early stages” of rolling out the app, which is “a dedicated space for photo and text content.”
“We hope that the TikTok community will utilize TikTok Notes to continue sharing their experiences via picture postings. “Whether documenting adventures, expressing creativity, or simply sharing snapshots of one’s day, the TikTok Notes experience is designed for those who want to share and engage through photo content,” the company said.
Aside from the fact that users may log in using their current TikTok account, the business did not provide much information regarding the app’s capabilities and operation. Even the app’s description in the App Store lacks information.
“TikTok Notes is a lifestyle platform that offers informative photo-text content about people’s lives, where you can see individuals sharing their travel tips and daily recipes,” according to the description on the app store.
The App Store listing’s images suggest that the main page will display the postings in two-column grids. The pictures and user postings also show that you may publish numerous photographs in a carousel post.
Eltrys reported earlier this month that TikTok Notes, the ByteDance-owned company’s Instagram rival, is in the works.
Notably, TikTok already supports picture and text postings. However, the business intends to build a new location for this kind of post to compete with Meta’s applications, such as Instagram and Threads.
