WhatsApp is now allowing users to pin discussions inside one-on-one and group conversations. According to the firm, users may pin any kind of discussion, including text, polls, photographs, and emoticons. Users, however, may only pin one conversation at a time.
You can pin a discussion by long-pressing on a conversation and choosing “Pin” from the menu, according to the Meta-owned messaging software. You may choose between 24 hours, 7 days (the default), and 30 days.
This is especially beneficial if you are visiting a friend for the first time; they may pin their address to the top of the conversation for quick access. It might be specific information about an event, a location to access regulations, or vital information for groups.
According to the firm, administrators in groups may select whether only admins or any member can pin a message.
Telegram and iMessage, WhatsApp’s rivals, already provide a pin message option for users in both individual and group conversations. It is unclear if WhatsApp intends to expand the pinned message functionality to channels as well.
Last week, WhatsApp added the option to send vanishing audio messages that the recipient could only see once.
