Apple is wary about Beeper Mini despite its subscription-based business model, citing possible security threats. Apple has shut down earlier initiatives, like Sunbird, to allow iMessage on Android.
While it is anticipated that Apple will adopt RCS soon, it has repeatedly refused to make it simpler for iOS and Android users to communicate with one another.
According to an Apple representative, the “obstacle” of iPhone families giving their kids Android phones would be eliminated once iMessage is implemented on Android smartphones. But with the upcoming Digital Markets Act in the EU, Apple will have to let third-party app shops in the area, therefore increasing customer options.
