WeTransfer eliminates the middleman and now enables users to sell files straight on the site

WeTransfer has recently introduced exciting new features that enable users to conveniently sell files directly on the platform. The company made this announcement on Tuesday.

Based on a study, a significant majority of content creators have experienced delays or non-payment for their work. Thanks to this new feature, photographers, designers, illustrators, and other creators can now effortlessly earn money without the hassle of chasing after payments. In addition, creators can avoid the extra expenses of setting up a website or physical store to generate sales.

Stripe powers the integrated payments on WeTransfer, which will be accessible to all users worldwide.

The company assures that, apart from the standard payment processing fees from Stripe, subscribers won’t incur any extra charges. Users who are not on WeTransfer’s paid plans can enjoy the convenience of integrated payments without any additional platform charges until the end of June. The feature offers support for over 100 currencies, allowing users to select their preferred currency during the onboarding process with Stripe.

Creators have the option to upload a file and specify a price in the “request payment” section while creating a folder. Once you determine the price, you can share the WeTransfer link with the client or buyer. The individual who receives the link will be required to make a payment prior to being able to download the files.

“Many creatives already utilize our platform on a daily basis to engage with clients, fans, and showcase their significant work. However, they frequently encounter difficulties when it comes to receiving final payments long after completing their projects,” stated WeTransfer CEO Alexandar Vassilev in an email. Integrating payments into our product ecosystem marks a significant milestone in our mission to enhance the convenience and earning opportunities for our creative user base. We aim to eliminate common obstacles by leveraging secure and user-friendly technology

The integration enables translations for all WeTransfer-supported languages, such as Danish, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Norwegian, Dutch, Portuguese, Swedish, and Turkish.
