Google One has reached 100M customers, according to Sundar Pichai.

Google CEO Sudar Pichai stated Google One was “just about to cross” 100 million customers.

During Alphabet’s Q4 2023 earnings call, Pichai said the firm wants to introduce AI-powered capabilities to Google One. The search giant introduced Google One in 2018. Since then, Google Photos has added magic eraser, portrait light and blur, color pop, and sky suggestion.

Google One plans start at $1.99 per month and include 100GB of storage for five individuals and U.S. VPN access.

Google’s subscription business, comprising YouTube Premium and Music, YouTube TV, and Google One, has exceeded $15 billion in yearly sales, according to Pichai. The business stated this is 5x higher than 2019. It stated that the “Subscriptions, Platforms, and Devices” sector grew 23% year-over-year due to excellent subscription performance.

Google last reported 80 million YouTube premium plans in November 2022. No news has been given subsequently. Google’s Q3 2023 data showed 2 billion signed-in people watching YouTube Shorts monthly and 7 billion daily plays.

Google fired almost 1,000 hardware, engineering, and services staff and 100 YouTube employees last month. Later, Pichai informed colleagues of further job losses this year.

Google announced 182,502 workers in its earnings announcement, up from 182,381 in Q3. This is much lower than its 2022 workforce of 190,234.

Google’s $65.5 billion ad revenue is below analyst projections of $65.8 billion, despite 11% year-over-year growth. The company’s shares fell 4% after this mistake.
