Elon Musk’s social network X now lets Android users conduct audio and video conversations via the app.
A project X engineer announced the feature release and claimed Android users will get it following an app update.
In August 2023, CEO Linda Yaccarino discussed adding video calls to the platform, which launched for iOS users in October.
Any user can receive a call, but only paying users can call. A vast range of X features are available only to paying users. Earlier this month, X eliminated premium customers’ ability to set an NFT profile photo.
Calling may be enabled or disabled under Settings > Privacy and Safety > Direct Messages. Allow video and audio calls. People may control who can call them from their contact book, followers, and verified users from the same menu. These selections allow numerous choices.
X still wants to be an “everything app.” The business announced its 2024 vision for peer-to-peer payment, xAI-powered features like “show dissimilar posts,” and more marketing ad offerings earlier last month.
After Musk urged marketers to “go f*ck yourself” during an event in November 2023, many reportedly left X for LinkedIn.
