Gmail’s new ‘Package Tracking’ tool is designed for shoppers: Package delay updates are available.

If a shipment is delayed, Gmail’s shipment tracking function, which was launched last year, will now display users the revised arrival date and move the corresponding email to the top of the inbox.

Google launched a new function to Gmail dubbed ‘Package Tracking’ in November of last year, allowing users to monitor their deliveries and obtain delivery information without opening the email. If the delivery date changes, the app will automatically move emails to the top of the inbox.

On Gmail’s Inbox page, the information will display in orange on the main page underneath the email’s topic. This is useful since consumers will no longer have to go through their email to find out how long it will take for their delivery to arrive.

On the parcel tracking card, the app will also alert the customer about the store’s return policy and provide a link to their return instructions. This information, however, may not be accessible for every product since it is dependent on the seller.

A new filter that tells customers whether the purchase will arrive before December 24 is another beneficial tool Google is offering for people in the United States. When looking for things on Google, consumers may rapidly select products that will arrive before Christmas by using the ‘Get it by Dec 24’ filter.
When using Gmail to monitor your deliveries, the capability must be activated manually via Gmail settings. To do so, go to the ‘Settings’ tab and activate the ‘Turn on package tracking’ option.

The aforementioned capabilities seem to be presently confined to users in the United States. It is unknown if Google will extend these features to other areas, so you may have to wait a bit before they appear on your account.
