Apple releases 11- and 13-inch iPad Air with M2 processor.

Apple is slightly behind schedule in updating its iPad range on Tuesday, having unveiled the last iPad Air more than two years ago. The new iPad Air now comes in two sizes, 11 and 13 inches, which is the most significant update. You will need to purchase an iPad Pro if you want an OLED display; this one is still an LED display.

“For the first time ever, the iPad Air comes in two sizes: a redesigned 11-inch Air and the spectacular all-new 13-inch Air,” said John Ternus, SVP, Hardware Engineering.

During Tuesday’s announcement, Ternus also redefined the meaning of the iPad Air within the larger iPad range. While not as fast as the iPad Pro, it is more feature-rich than the entry-level iPad. For example, the iPad Air works with the Magic Keyboard and the second-generation Apple Pencil (which you can magnetically connect to the tablet’s side).

“We designed iPad Air to deliver advanced features pioneered on iPad Pro and make them available at an even more affordable price,” Ternus said.

The gadget’s system has been upgraded by a chip. The earlier model used Apple’s M1 processor, but the iPad Air now uses the M2. Customers may choose to acquire a variant of the iPad Air that supports 5G in addition to Wi-Fi 6E.

Additionally, we repositioned the iPad’s camera to make it appear more organic when held in landscape mode. Both the front and rear cameras feature twelve MP sensors. Starlight, space gray, blue, and purple are the four color choices for the aluminum body.

Although the new iPad Air still costs $599 for 128GB (or $799 for the 13-inch model), Apple is now offering 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB of storage. Otherwise, you no longer have to get an iPad Pro if you need a lot of storage.

The new iPad Air versions will go on presale on Tuesday and be available for purchase the following week.
