The “Let Loose” event on Tuesday included the much-awaited Apple iPad Pro. The premium tablet has not seen a significant update since 2022, with the release of the 7th generation model.
“We’re going to crush them,” Apple SVP John Ternus said at the presentation. “We’re not just going to push the limits of the iPad.”
In part, the recently unveiled M4 processor sets the new gadget apart from the rest of the lineup. As it happens, it’s the first device to get it, a change in the Apple semiconductor roadmap that has hitherto favored Macs over iPads.
“Up to 50% faster performance” over the M2 chip in the previous generation is what the new CPU offers, the business claims. Also improved is the GPU, which now has some critical game-enhancing features like ray tracing.
According to the business, the 16-core new neural engine is “60x faster” than its first-generation NPU.
To further distance itself from previous iPads, the new Pro also introduces the much-anticipated OLED iPad display. Its 1,600 nits of brightness are derived from the revolutionary “tandem OLED” technology. Apple is calling the new screen its “Ultra Retina XDR.” Furthermore, the new Pro brings nano texture display technology to the iPad lineup for the first time.
The tablet weighs 1.28 pounds and comes in two sizes, 11 and 13 inches. They both have the most recent OLED display.

The 12-megapixel front-facing camera on the Pro moves to the side of the handset, much like on the new Air. Naturally, the new Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard work with the updated Pro.
The 13-inch model costs $1,299. The 11-inch model begins at $999. Both will begin delivery next week and are available for pre-order now.
